I'm Lindsey, a Pacific Northwest (Seattle, Washington) based Adventure Elopement photographer, born and raised in Washington State. I'm also a sailor, a skier, backpacker, rock climber, and mountaineer. I'm passionate about love, light, adventure, and environmental stewardship.

My journey to a creative, outdoor life began as a kid raised in the world of camping, hiking and horsemanship. Nights spent under a canopy of stars in an open field, long easy rides at sunrise and hikes to the hidden lakes of the Cascade Mountains laid the foundation for an enduring connection to the beauty and power of the natural world.

After earning a degree in Communications from Santa Clara University, I began a corporate career in storytelling that took me from Seattle to Norway where my connection to the natural environment was celebrated as a cultural norm the the philosphy and practice of "friluftsliv."

After leading a group of six international couples on a five day journey through Norway's fjords and documenting their experience, little by little. my photography passion has blossomed into my life’s work.

I have spent ten years working for outdoor companies and shot lifestyle photography for for international outdoor and travel centric brands like REI, Helly Hansen. La Sportiva, Arcteryx, Eddie Bauer, Clipper Vacations, Darn Tough Vermont, Deuter, LOGE Camps, Hipcamp, Airbnb and many others.

When planning your adventure elopement, your photographer needs to be both a talented artist and an experienced outdoor leader. When you elope with me, rest assured you have both. I'm a trained sailor, backcountry skier, mountaineer, and rock climber. I love getting out on my SUP, surf board, kayak, or pack raft as much as I love being in my harness, placing protection, belaying my partner or cramponing up a glacier.  Mother Nature can be wild and unpredictable, and you need a photographer ready to handle whatever she dishes out. Whether your wedding involves the seas or summits I can journey to both with you. Whether you envision a casual hike with sweeping panoramic views or a technical overnight trip, I've got your back! My pop-up changing room and walkie talkies travel with me on every trip so you can change your outfit from the trail and stay in contact when we're out of cell service.

I became passionate about adventure photography while pursing my outdoor education through The Mountaineers organization. I now support outdoor education through the organization by working as a volunteer leader and educator for climbing programs. I also spend winters teaching youth ski programs at Alpental ski area through The Summit SnowSports School.

I value teaching and learning along with any experience, and my clients do too! You can rest easy on your elopement day knowing that you will be safe with an experienced leader throughout your adventure elopement. I have an advanced Leave No Trace Trainer Certification through the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics and I helped found the partnership program for the Nature First Photography Alliance.

"The Readiness is all" - HAMLET

A Commitment to Putting Nature First

My greatest passion is the pursuit of love, light, and stewardship for the natural world. Behind every photo I take is a deep appreciation and respect for Mother Earth. Without public lands it would not be possible to do the work that I do and giving back through my work is a top priority. I'm a proud photography partner of Washington's National Park Fund, a trainer and member of the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, and member and former member of the Executive Leadership Team of the Nature First Photography Alliance.

Adventure elopements are as much about appreciating the beauty of nature as they are about caring for the earth. Adventure elopements aren't JUST about epic adventure photos. They are an opportunity to take action to cherish the planet with love, and through love. Can you imagine a more meaningful way to start life together as couple?

Outdoor experiences shape our lives, but mother nature cannot speak for herself. As a photographer, outdoor leader, and advocate I seek to be a voice working on behalf of the planet through my art and relationships. Nature's playground exists for us to enjoy, but we also have the responsibility to protect the natural world. Girl in the Wild elopements are designed to minimize human impact on our most cherished and delicate wild places.

I currently head up the Pacific Northwest branch of "Nature First: The Alliance for Responsible Nature Photography." I'm committed to preserving public lands and wild places through Leave No Trace Principles. As the only elopement photographer partnered with Washington's National Parks Fund, the non-profit responsible for stewardship and fundraising on behalf of Mount Rainier National Park, North Cascades National Park, and Olympic National Park, I'm especially concerned about protecting my backyard. This is why every one of my eloping couples get a sweet swag bag of Leave No Trace gear to equip them for the day.

If you're looking for a photographer willing to do anything, including trampling delicate ecosystems to get you the most epic outdoor photo imaginable, I won't be for you. If you want to get creative in capturing your connection to the great outdoors with a photographer who has a mindfulness for both the power and delicate beauty of nature, I'm the perfect fit.

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave NO TRACE.

OM

Love and nature are the two closest things to magic there is.

Do you believe in magic? I do. I find it when I'm outside and when love is at the center of my life.

Friluftsliv: Free Air, Free Life

The Norwegian term "Friluftsliv" is an ancient philosophy emphasizing the intrinsic organic and energetic connection we all have to the earth. Norwegian culture, like many others around the world values "open air living" and understands it as necessary for health and wellbeing. It is the motivation behind "allmansrätten," the "right to roam," where legally people have the right to walk or camp practically anywhere, as long as they show respect for the surrounding nature, wildlife and locals. Both of these ways of living and being in nature guide my outdoor principles and how I work with clients. As a seasoned global adventurer having lived in Norway, a place popularized for its unique philosophical understanding of nature, I know how to tread consciously in the outdoors.

“Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.” – Warren Bennis

As a Washington Native, and Seattle based adventure elopement photographer with a formal partnership with Washington's National Parks, I have intimate and in depth knowledge and connection to Washington's most cherished wild places. I'm more than a professional fine art photographer, I'm a trained and tested outdoor leader and a true expert in the PNW region.

Since 2015, I've coordinated and planned every detail of transportation, lodging, meals, outfitting, and support vendors for group large and small. I enjoy helping couples with the logistics of travel friendly flowers, hiking proof hair and makeup, timelines, permits, lodging, and every other detail associated with a full or multi-day elopement. As an adventure travel professional as well as a photographer, I know how to lead you through all aspects of your experience, tell a story, and make it FUN!

Adventure in Love and Return to Nature

Connect with the terroir of your relationship.

An elopement is about your place in life, your place in the world, and your place in connection to your partner. It is an opportunity to celebrate all of that together as you commit your lives to one another. Unearthing your own personal connection to place, together, through an adventure elopement will help solidify your connection to all of life in profound way. I want to take you to your place. I want to take you to the place where you feel connected to life, and I want that to be where you are when you pledge yourself to the love of your life. Where is that place for you?

Capturing the synergy between you and the environment, not your dominance over it.

My clients come to me wanting more than drool worthy Instagram photos. They seek a meaningful, inspiring, fun and playful  adventure elopement experience makes them feel (and look) most alive in their skin. They don't come to exploit Mother Nature through their session, but rather honor and connect with her; and ultimately with themselves.

To return to love is to return to your roots.

Love is the creative force that brought you into this world, and there is nothing more beautiful than living from your original state. Congratulations! When you honor your commitment with an adventure elopement, in the wild of nature, it's also an opportunity to get close to the earth, to the nature you came from. It is an opportunity to return to your true essence, the very best and most alive and authentic version of who you are. This is the version of you that I capture and document through my lens.

I promise to make it meaningful, I promise to make it fun, and above all I promise to help you feel and look most alive in your skin and in your element. I can't wait to learn more about you, your dreams, your vision, and see what magic we can make together. I look forward to helping create the adventure elopement experience you’ll remember the rest of your life.
